Basing job

No new paint yet. But I was taking a stab at my first serious basing job. Yes, another Justicar (one of my favorite sets of sculpts), this one battling on the edge of some stoneworks or a cliff.

We'll see how this turns out once the paint has hit the lead.

  1. Interesting. I'm divided on bases. A well done one looks really great, but I've never had the urge to pretty up the ones on my own minis. I tend to either paint them black, or glue on a layer of flocking and forget about it. I'm looking forward to seeing how your work progresses!

Also, I finally have 2 minis to post. I'll probably snap some photos tomorrow.

  2. Woot! about the minis I mean. Can't wait.

And I'm like you on the matter of bases. I tend to the simple, and mostly stick to straight black plastic bases. There's something nice about focusing on the figure and not the base.

  3. I am divided on the issue. On the one hand I always felt like the mini is where the effort should go. But on the other, even just adding flock to a base makes the whole completed piece look so much better. So, I can see where really spending some time on the base may pay off overall. Hrm.
