Six and Seven ...

Reaper: Ansel and Pathfinder Grunt ...

I've been meaning to do Ansel for maybe 4 years now. He's sat on my shelf for a long time waiting for some paint. I hadn't intended on taking as long on him or the Pathfinder as I did but there you go. The Grunt is intended to be a PC for me. He turned out quite well I think.

  1. You've got some skills there amigo! Love the rock under the Pathfinder. That's not cork right? It doesn't have the numerous cracks that cork usually has. Foam? Sculpted?

Your Ansel is pretty solid there. NMM gold right? Is that one of the leather triads from the Master series?

Any chance of a back shot on these two?

  2. Thank you. :)

The rock under the dwarf actually is cork. But it isn't the corkboard you can find in hobby stores, I carve it out of a wine bottle cork stopper. So it was a bit denser. It has many of the same "cracks" but it doesn't show because I've painted it black and then highlighted and brightened it such that they are mostly hidden.

The gold is more or less (reaper MSP), Blackened brown base, uniform brown + green ochre, palomino gold, and finally pure white. There's some gradation in there but not as much as I'd like.
